Avoid Frozen Water Lines

‼️Attention KMU WATER Customers‼️

Customers are urged to take the temperature of their water and then continue monitoring it for the next two months even if we get several days of warmer weather.

You should immediately start running a continuous pencil lead-width stream of water from a faucet:
  • If your water temperature is below 36 degrees Fahrenheit
  • If you notice rusty or below-normal flow of water

A frozen water service repair could cost between $800-$1000 or more. The cost to run a constant pencil lead-width stream of water to avoid a frozen water line is much less ($50-$60 per month including sewer fees). Frozen pipes can occur in any structure regardless of it’s age.
